Thomas and Andina’s Folkington Manor Wedding: A Celebration of Love and Culture
As a candid and reportage style wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing countless beautiful and memorable moments on camera. However, Thomas and Andina’s Folkington Manor Wedding in East Sussex in June 2019 was truly one for the books.
Folkington Manor at a glance
Folkington Manor is a country house estate at Folkington, near Polegate in East Sussex. Its Flint Halls are registered for civil ceremonies and seat up to 140 for a ceremony and 90 on round tables for dinner, with room in the grounds for a marquee for larger numbers. Outdoor ceremonies can take place on the front lawns, in the rose gardens or among the trees. Weddings are exclusive use, with only one wedding per weekend. Caterers come from an approved list, you can bring your own drinks without corkage, and there is no accommodation on site.

From the moment I arrived at the stunning venue, I knew this was going to be a special day. The sun was shining and there was a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation in the air. As I walked through the gardens, taking in the stunning views and meticulously curated floral arrangements, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to be a part of such a magical occasion at the Folkington Manor wedding venue.

Thomas and Andina are a wonderful couple with a deep appreciation for both their own cultures and each other’s. As such, their wedding was a beautiful blend of traditions, seamlessly woven together to create a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
The ceremony itself was held in a beautiful indoor setting, within the Manor house. The stunning, wood panelled Flint Halls, bathed in natural light and rolling hills serving as a breathtaking backdrop. The couple exchanged vows inside fabulous hall with fresh flowers and greenery, with their closest friends and family members gathered around to bear witness to their love.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a reception filled with delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing, the rhythmic beat of the music created an electric energy that had everyone on their feet, clapping and cheering along.

Whilst I took the couple away for the all important evening photos, guests soaked up the beautiful surroundings, nestled at the foot of the South Downs. As the night wore on and the stars came out, it was clear that this Folkington Manor wedding was a truly special and unforgettable event. Thomas and Andina’s love for each other and their respective cultures was evident in every detail of the day, and it was an honor to be able to capture those moments on camera.
In conclusion, Thomas and Andina’s Folkington Manor wedding was a celebration of love, culture, and the unique bond that two people can share. Every aspect of the day was a testament to the beauty and joy that can come from blending different cultures and traditions. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a special occasion, and I wish Thomas and Andina all the happiness in the world as they embark on this new chapter of their lives together.

Kind words:
Matt was fantastic. From the moment we met him, Matt was friendly, charming and put us at ease. He knew exactly what we were looking for – a discrete presence on the day, who would capture our most special moments. All our pre-meetings and payments were totally straightforward too, which shouldn’t be overlooked. We recommend him totally.

Photographing a Folkington Manor wedding
Andina and Thomas married in the wood-panelled Flint Halls, bathed in natural light, with fresh flowers and greenery around them. The gardens and their floral arrangements gave the day colour from the moment I arrived. After the speeches the dancing filled the room, and I took the two of them outside for evening photographs while their guests enjoyed the surroundings at the foot of the South Downs.
