Frequently asked questions

Everything couples ask before they book.

Before you book

I’ve just sent my enquiry — what happens next?

I check the diary, then you hear from me.

If I’m free on your date, I’ll reply — usually the same day — with a link to book a quick video call, so we can talk plans and make sure we’re a good fit before you commit to anything.

Can we talk before we book?

Of course — most couples do.

We’ll jump on a short Google Meet via my Calendly link: you tell me about the day, I’ll show you full galleries, and there’s no obligation on either side. Prefer everything in writing first? The price and real weddings are all on this site.

Can you hold a date?

Pencil, yes. Ink needs a contract.

I’ll happily pencil you in while you decide, but a date is only truly secured with a signed contract and the £500 booking retainer — strictly first come, first served.

What comes with your booking?

Everything. One price, nothing withheld.

£2,500 covers unlimited hours from morning prep to the dancefloor, 800+ edited photographs, 100+ previews the morning after the wedding, your own client portal, full printing rights and UK travel.

Is there a contract?

Always.

You sign it online in your client portal — the same place you make payments and fill in your pre-wedding questionnaire. Everything in one login.

Are you insured?

£5m of cover, with PhotoGuard.

Public Liability and Professional Indemnity, through the UK’s leading photographic insurer. Your venue can have the certificate any time they ask.

Do you take card payments?

Cards, transfers — whatever suits.

Credit and debit cards or bank transfer, all handled securely through the client portal.

The day itself

What time do you stay until?

Until the story’s told.

Unlimited hours means I’m not counting them. I’m with you from morning prep through to a busy dancefloor — usually about an hour after the first dance, once the party is properly up and running and the day’s story is complete. No clock-watching, and no packing up at a set time.

Shall we do confetti?

Yes, just yes.

It’s a great shot and one of my favourite images of any wedding day. I’ll help you plan the where and when so it lands perfectly.

Do you take formal family group photos?

Yes — quickly and painlessly.

Give me a list of 8–10 combinations before the day and we’ll work through them in around twenty minutes, then everyone heads back to the party. Formals aside, I’ll happily offer gentle direction whenever it helps — a nudge into better light, a hand on where to stand — but the rest of the day is yours to simply live.

What happens if you’re ill?

There’s a plan, and a contract behind it.

In fifteen years it hasn’t happened. If it ever did, I’d call on the second shooters I work with regularly — photographers I’ve chosen because they shoot the way I shoot and are experienced at covering weddings on their own. Your contract sets out exactly where you stand, so your day is protected either way.

Do you also do videography?

No — but I know who you should call.

I photograph only, so you get my full attention. I work alongside brilliant videographers every month and I’m happy to recommend the right one for your day.

Your photographs

When do we get our photos?

100+ previews before breakfast.

You’ll wake up the morning after your wedding to 100 fully edited previews. The complete gallery of 800+ follows in the weeks after — passworded, downloadable and ready to print.

How do you edit your images?

What you see is what occurred.

Every image is individually edited for colour, light and crop — but no heavy retouching, no sky replacements, no artificial skin smoothing. Your photographs will still look true in thirty years.
