The approach

Documentary wedding photography in the Cotswolds. Nobody gets posed.

I photograph the day as it actually happens, quietly, from close enough to hear the joke and far enough not to be in it. No shot lists, no group-photo marathon, no standing people in a field at golden hour because a website said so.

A Cotswolds venue I know

Hyde House, a few minutes from Stow-on-the-Wold.

A restored Victorian house and barn with the whole place to yourselves: getting ready in the house, the ceremony in The Grange barn or outside under The Arbour looking over the countryside, and the evening back in the barn. Everything happens in one place, which suits the way I work. I can move from the bridal suite to the barn to the garden without anyone noticing I have gone.

The Cotswolds light is the other reason to come. Stone walls and open fields catch the low sun beautifully, and in midsummer it does not set until around half past nine.
