Your Surrey
wedding, as it actually happened.
Documentary. Natural. Cinematic.Documentary photography for couples marrying across Surrey — from grand estates on the North Downs to intimate barn conversions in the Surrey Hills. Natural, unposed, cinematic.
Real moments don't wait for a photographer to be ready.
My approach is documentary — I’m there to observe, anticipate and capture, not to direct. For most of the day you won’t know I’m shooting.
That said, I’m not invisible. Where a little guidance helps — finding the light for portraits, a quiet word before the first dance — I’ll offer it. Gently, briefly, and then I’m gone again. The photographs look natural because the moments were.
Surrey sits at the intersection of city sophistication and genuine countryside — the Surrey Hills are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the venues here reflect that. Grand without being cold, accessible without being ordinary.
950+ weddings in. Every single one documented the same way — exactly as it happened, as it actually felt.

Venues I love shooting in Surrey
From Georgian estates on the North Downs to converted barns in the Surrey Hills — I photograph weddings at some of the most beautiful venues in the county. If your venue isn't listed, get in touch.
Loseley Park
An Elizabethan manor house near Guildford with walled gardens, a tithe barn, and 1,400 acres of farmland. One of Surrey’s most loved wedding venues — warm, beautiful and genuinely special.
Wotton House
A stunning 17th century house near Dorking in the Surrey Hills with Capability Brown gardens and a beautiful orangery. Elegant without being stuffy, and an outstanding photography location.
Botleys Mansion
A Georgian mansion near Chertsey with lake views, sweeping grounds and grand interiors. Exclusive use for up to 250 guests — one of Surrey’s grandest celebrations.
Pembroke Lodge
A Georgian farmhouse in the heart of Richmond Park with panoramic views over the Thames Valley. Unique, characterful, and surrounded by ancient parkland.
Fetcham Park
A privately owned Queen Anne mansion near Leatherhead with lake, formal gardens and walled kitchen garden. One of the most beautiful smaller estates in the South East.
Hazel Gap Barn
A beautifully converted barn in the Surrey countryside with exposed beams, natural light and a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Perfect for couples who want warmth over grandeur.
“I knew I had to have you as our photographer — and my husband said the next day ‘I now get it why we had to have him.’ Your photos are nothing short of amazing, and you’ve got a wicked sense of humour too.”
Lauren & Danny — Herefordshire
“After our initial consultation we knew we’d have no hesitation booking Matt. On the day he made us feel completely at ease, always there to anticipate the perfect shot. He truly immortalised our day.”
Mr & Mrs Danesi — Essex
“As two fairly awkward people who hate having photos taken, he was exactly the photographer we needed. In the nicest way possible we barely realised he was there — and the photos are extraordinary.”
