I have photographed Surrey for years. Moving west did not change that.
Surrey was part of my South East run long before I came home to Cornwall, and it still is. Travel is in the price, so the only thing that has changed is which direction I arrive from.
The approach
Documentary photography. Nobody gets posed.
I photograph the day as it actually happens, quietly, from close enough to hear the joke and far enough not to be in it. No shot lists, no group-photo marathon, no standing people in a field at golden hour because a website said so.
Nearly a thousand weddings have gone into learning how to do that without anyone noticing me doing it.
What the years buy
I have already worked several of the county’s best rooms.
Enough Surrey weddings to know how the county actually behaves: the big houses along the Downs, the farm and barn venues tucked behind them, and the traffic that decides whether your guests arrive calm or flustered.
Send me your venue and I will tell you straight whether I have shot it, and what I would do with the day if I have not. I keep a page for a few of them.
I photograph the whole day, from the quiet bit in the morning to the dancefloor. Nobody is counting hours, because I do not sell them.
Cornwall is where I sleep now, not where I work. I come up the night before where it makes sense, and the drive is never on your invoice.

Silent shutter all day. No flash at all until the dancefloor, which is why people stop noticing me by about eleven o’clock.
Two Sony A9 III bodies on me and two A9 II in the bag. Dual cards in everything, backed up on site through the day.
Included at no extra charge when the venue and the rules allow it. I check before the day, so nothing is promised that cannot be flown.
