Hampshire is the easy end of the South East run. I want more weddings in it.

The approach

Documentary photography. Nobody gets posed.

I photograph the day as it actually happens, quietly, from close enough to hear the joke and far enough not to be in it. No shot lists, no group-photo marathon, no standing people in a field at golden hour because a website said so.

Nearly a thousand weddings have gone into learning how to do that without anyone noticing me doing it.

Being straight with you

I have worked here. I am not going to pretend I have worked here a lot.

Hampshire has had a handful of my weddings rather than a decade of them, and a photographer who claims local expertise he has not earned is not worth booking. What I do bring is the craft, which travels: nearly a thousand weddings of reading a room, absorbing a running order that has slipped by forty minutes, and knowing which five minutes of the day actually matter.

The most recent was a multi-day Sikh and Hindu celebration that ran from a ceremony in Hounslow to a reception here in Hampshire — the full gallery is on the site. Big, loud, three days long, and photographed the same way I photograph everything else.

Where I do not know a venue I go and walk it beforehand, at the hour your ceremony falls, and I speak to the coordinator well before the morning of. That is the part most people skip.
