Your Hampshire
wedding, as it actually happened.
Documentary. Natural. Cinematic.Documentary photography for couples marrying across Hampshire — from Georgian country houses in the Test Valley to barn conversions on the edge of the New Forest. Natural, unposed, cinematic.
Real moments don't wait for a photographer to be ready.
My approach is documentary — I'm there to observe, anticipate and capture, not to direct. For most of the day you won't know I'm shooting.
That said, I'm not invisible. Where a little guidance helps — finding the light for portraits, a quiet word before the first dance — I'll offer it. Gently, briefly, and then I'm gone again. The photographs look natural because the moments were.
Hampshire has an extraordinary range — New Forest woodland, Georgian estates, coastal light from the Solent. It's a county that surprises you every time. I've shot here dozens of times and it still does.
Nearly 1,000 weddings in. Every single one documented the same way — exactly as it happened, as it actually felt.

Venues I love shooting in Hampshire
From clifftop forts on Whitsand Bay to Georgian estates hidden down private Hampshire lanes — I photograph weddings at some of the most beautiful venues in the county. If your venue isn't listed, get in touch.
Northbrook Park
A stunning Grade II listed Georgian mansion near Farnham on the Hampshire/Surrey border. 120 acres of parkland, a dedicated wedding suite, and a team who genuinely care about the day.
Highclere Castle
The real Downton Abbey — one of England's most iconic country houses set in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown parkland. When the light hits the stone in the evening, there is nowhere better.
Lainston House
A William and Mary country house hotel near Winchester with 63 acres of grounds, a walled garden, and interiors that balance grandeur with genuine warmth.
Avington Park
A privately owned Restoration-era mansion near Winchester set in parkland running to the River Itchen. Exclusive use, intimate atmosphere, and beautiful natural light throughout.
Upwaltham Barns
Converted 16th century barns near Chichester on the West Sussex border — warm, characterful and filled with natural light. A favourite for couples who want something genuine over grand.
Stansted House
A stunning Wren-style country house near Rowlands Castle with formal gardens, a chapel, and 1,800 acres of grounds including part of the South Downs National Park.
“I knew I had to have you as our photographer — and my husband said the next day ‘I now get it why we had to have him.’ Your photos are nothing short of amazing, and you’ve got a wicked sense of humour too.”
Lauren & Danny — Herefordshire
“After our initial consultation we knew we’d have no hesitation booking Matt. On the day he made us feel completely at ease, always there to anticipate the perfect shot. He truly immortalised our day.”
Mr & Mrs Danesi — Essex
“As two fairly awkward people who hate having photos taken, he was exactly the photographer we needed. In the nicest way possible we barely realised he was there — and the photos are extraordinary.”
