One Dorset wedding so far. I am looking for the next one.
A county of hard chalk coastline and soft inland valleys, and a short enough run from Cornwall that I would happily make it a regular fixture rather than an occasional one.
The approach
Documentary wedding photography in Dorset. Nothing staged.
I photograph the day as it actually happens, quietly, from close enough to hear the joke and far enough not to be in it. No group-photo marathon and nothing staged: a short family list, a few relaxed portraits with gentle direction, and the rest exactly as it happens.
Being straight with you
Experience that travels well.
I have photographed in Dorset once, and I am not going to dress that up into a decade of it. What carries over is everything that is not geography: nearly a thousand weddings of reading a room, handling a running order that has slipped by forty minutes, and knowing when to put the camera down.
Where I do not know a venue I walk it beforehand at the hour your ceremony falls, and I speak to the coordinator well before the morning of.
I photograph the whole day, from the quiet bit in the morning to the dancefloor. Nobody is counting hours, because I do not sell them.
I am based in Cornwall, so the run east is short and familiar. Travel is included in the price and I stay locally the night before where it makes sense.

The sun sets around 9.25pm in late June, 7.25pm in mid-September and 4.05pm in December.
