The approach
Documentary photography, taken somewhere hotter.
A destination wedding is different. The light is unfamiliar, the venue is extraordinary, and the people you love have flown hours to be in the same room. That deserves a photographer who can disappear into a space and let it happen, not one recreating poses from a portfolio. I photograph abroad exactly as I do at home: whole days as they actually happen, gentle guidance when you want it, and three short portrait sessions so you are never away from your guests for long.
How it works
Day before, wedding day, day after.
I arrive the day before. Always. It is a buffer against delays, a chance to walk the venue in the light I will be shooting in, and, if the timings work, an evening shoot or welcome-drinks coverage while everyone is fresh off the plane and pleased to see each other.
The wedding day is the wedding day. Unlimited hours, from getting ready to the dancefloor, the same as in the UK. Sunset comes late in most of Europe in summer, so the third portrait session tends to be the best of the lot.
I fly home the day after. If you want the morning-after brunch or a second event covered, that is an extra day and I will quote it. Multi-day weddings, Asian weddings with separate events, and haldi or mehndi the day before are all things I have photographed abroad before.
The night before and the wedding night. Flights, accommodation and local transfers are in the price for European destinations.
Outside Europe the wedding is the same and the price is the same; only the travel changes, and I price it at cost. Cape Verde and the USA are on the list already.
Aerial coverage at no extra charge if the rules allow it. Every country and most venues have their own drone regulations; I check them for your location before I travel, and if it is a no, nothing is lost and nothing is charged.
Two camera bodies, duplicate lenses, dual card slots. All of it in cabin baggage. Nothing that matters goes in the hold.

£400 plus their travel, if you want one. Worth it for 200+ guests or two venues; not needed for most days.
If the flight is cancelled
The plan nobody asks about until they need it.
Flights get cancelled, strikes happen, and airport IT falls over. It has not stopped me getting to a wedding yet, and this is why.
The buffer. Arriving the day before means a cancelled flight is an inconvenience, not a crisis. For anywhere more than one flight away, or in peak strike season, I arrive two days before.
The fare. I book the first departure of the day on a flexible fare, so if it goes, I am rebooked on the next one, on any airline, before most passengers have found the queue. For most of Europe there is an overland fallback too: train to France and Spain, ferry to Ireland, a long drive if it comes to it.
The backup. In the very rare case I genuinely cannot get there, the contract says what happens: a replacement photographer of a comparable standard from the small group of UK wedding photographers I trust, subject to your approval, and a full refund of the fee if you would rather. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance sits behind all of it.
Your photographs. Cards are backed up to two drives before I leave the venue and to the cloud before I leave the country. If my bag went missing on the way home, your wedding would not.

Beyond Europe, the same day — the travel is simply priced on top.
Recently: France, Italy, Spain, Majorca and Malta in Europe; Cape Verde and the USA further out.
The investment
£3,250
All-inclusive for any European destination: unlimited hours, 800+ edited images, 100+ next-day previews, two nights, flights and transfers, drone where permitted, full printing rights. A £500 retainer holds the date; the balance is due 30 days before.
