A wedding at Trevenna: drinks in the gardens, a walk with their little one, and the bride on the barn balcony.

What a Trevenna wedding photographer is working with

Trevenna is a family farm turned into a collection of barns, a farmhouse and gardens at St Neot, with an arbour lawn under a huge sycamore, walled gardens, the threshing barn and the newer Mowhay. Most couples take the whole place for two or three days.

There are a lot of places to be married here, indoors and out, which means there is always a good option whatever the weather decides.

Moor weather, and why plan B matters here

Trevenna sits on the edge of Bodmin Moor, and moor weather moves fast and differs completely from the coast. Guests driving from the coast may tell you it is sunny while it is raining on you.

So I plan the day with both versions in mind, and I will not let you move a ceremony indoors at eleven o’clock on the strength of a forecast. Grey mornings here very often clear by afternoon.

Planning a Trevenna wedding timeline

The first thing a Trevenna wedding photographer should talk to you about is the weather, because on the edge of the moor it can change completely within an hour. A good plan B is not a disappointment here; it is just part of the day.

Then work backwards from sunset. In June the sun sets around 9.30pm in Cornwall, in September around 7.35pm and in December about 4.15pm, so the right time for golden-hour portraits moves a long way through the year. The Cornwall page has sunset times for every month.

As your Trevenna wedding photographer I will keep the portrait slots flexible, and if the sky clears at short notice I will come and find you. Fifteen minutes is all it takes.

What a £2,000 Trevenna wedding photographer covers

  • Unlimited hours, usually 10am to 10pm
  • 800+ edited images, full resolution, print rights yours
  • 100+ previews the next morning
  • Drone where the venue and the CAA permit it
  • No travel charge and no hotel. I am based in Cornwall
  • A venue visit beforehand if I have not been recently

It is the same whole day I shoot anywhere. More on how I work as a Cornwall wedding photographer, including sunset times for every month.

After your Trevenna wedding

The morning after, you will have more than a hundred edited previews in your inbox, usually before breakfast. They are yours to share straight away, and most couples spend the first morning of married life looking through them together.

The full gallery follows within sixteen weeks, and usually sooner: 800 or more photographs, every one edited by me, in a private online gallery your guests can view and download from. Full print rights are yours, so you can print them anywhere you like.

If you are still weighing up a Trevenna wedding photographer, the most useful thing I can do is show you a whole day rather than a highlights reel. Ask and I will send you a complete gallery from a recent Cornish wedding.

Straight answers

How far are you from Trevenna?

I am based in Cornwall, so it is a straightforward drive. Nothing added for travel.

Have you photographed a wedding at Trevenna before?

Yes, once. I know the arbour lawn and the barns, and how quickly the weather turns up there.

Indoor or outdoor ceremony?

Outdoors under the sycamore if the weather allows. If not, the barns are lovely and I will make the most of them.
