A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Boconnoc yet, so as your Boconnoc wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.

What a Boconnoc wedding photographer is working with

Boconnoc is a country estate near Lostwithiel in south-east Cornwall, reached down two miles of private roads. At its centre is a grand Georgian house with four reception rooms looking out over parkland and rolling hills, and close by is the estate’s own church, around 800 years old.

It is a proper exclusive-use estate wedding: guests stay in the house and cottages, the ceremony can be in the church, and dinner is in the house or a marquee in the grounds.

A private estate, its own church, and the whole weekend together.

The spaces at Boconnoc

The church seats around 170 and has soaring stained glass and a vaulted ceiling. I photograph church ceremonies quietly from the sides, with no flash and nothing staged.

Up to around 100 can be seated in the house, with marquees in the grounds for bigger weddings. The parkland is the place for portraits and groups, especially late in the day.

How I photograph a Boconnoc wedding

Boconnoc is a whole estate: an old church, a Georgian house and a long sweep of parkland with old trees. Choosing a Boconnoc wedding photographer here means choosing someone who can cover a church ceremony, a walk through the park and a party in the house without the day feeling split up.

As your Boconnoc wedding photographer I use the dappled light under the old trees for portraits, which is kind to everyone at any time of day, and keep the group photographs near the house so nobody walks far.

Planning your Boconnoc wedding photography

Estate weddings run over a weekend, so think about whether you want the night before or the morning after photographed too. On the day, the walk from church to house is a lovely, unhurried moment to capture.
