A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Hartland Abbey yet, so as your Hartland Abbey wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.

What a Hartland Abbey wedding photographer is working with

Hartland Abbey is a historic family house in a remote valley near Hartland, with gardens and grounds that lead down to a wild Atlantic cove.

Ceremonies can be in the Victorian Drawing Room for up to 70, the Billiard Room for 40, the Library for fifteen or the Summerhouse for twelve. Receptions are in a marquee on the lawns or elsewhere on the estate, for around 200.

Photographing a Hartland Abbey wedding

The house has beautiful old rooms with deep windows, and the gardens are full of texture. The walk down the valley to the cove is one of the most dramatic in Devon.

With a marquee on the lawn, the party has the house as its backdrop, which is lovely as the light goes.

How I photograph a Hartland Abbey wedding

Hartland Abbey sits in a wild valley that runs down to the Atlantic, so a Hartland Abbey wedding photographer gets old rooms, walled gardens and a dramatic cove on one estate.

As your Hartland Abbey wedding photographer I photograph the ceremony in the house and, if you want it, the walk down the valley towards the sea, while the marquee party carries on by the lawns.

Planning your Hartland Abbey wedding photography

If you want photos at the cove, allow time for the walk and bring flat shoes. Keep twenty minutes free before sunset.
