What a Lewtrenchard Manor wedding photographer is working with

Lewtrenchard Manor is a Jacobean manor house on the western edge of Dartmoor near Okehampton, built in the early 1600s and restored in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Ballroom takes up to 100 for a ceremony, 65 for the wedding breakfast and 120 in the evening, and sixteen bedrooms across the house, the courtyard and the folly sleep 32. It offers exclusive use for the full wedding, or smaller celebrations.

Photographing a Lewtrenchard Manor wedding

The house is full of carved wood, old glass and deep windows, which gives beautiful moody light inside. I work with it rather than against it.

The gardens and the countryside around give soft, green portraits with Dartmoor in the distance.

How I photograph a Lewtrenchard Manor wedding

Lewtrenchard Manor is dark wood, carved panelling and old glass on the edge of Dartmoor. A Lewtrenchard Manor wedding photographer should love moody window light, because that is what makes the photographs here.

As your Lewtrenchard Manor wedding photographer I keep the Ballroom ceremony natural and quiet, and take you into the gardens and towards the moor for portraits.

Planning your Lewtrenchard Manor wedding photography

Keep twenty minutes free before sunset for the gardens. For a smaller wedding, the house suits a relaxed, long lunch style of day.
