A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Pynes House yet, so as your Pynes House wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.

What a Pynes House wedding photographer is working with

Pynes House sits in the Exe Valley just outside Exeter, reached along a long tree-lined drive. It is hired exclusively, so the house, the gardens and the twelve guest bedrooms are yours for the wedding.

It is said to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, and inside there are sunny State Rooms and a Ballroom for the wedding breakfast and dancing.

Photographing a Pynes House wedding

The State Rooms are full of daylight, which is lovely for the morning and the speeches. Outside, the gardens and the views over the valley give you plenty of places for portraits a few minutes from the party.

With everyone staying in the house it feels like a family weekend, which is where documentary photos are at their best.

How I photograph a Pynes House wedding

Pynes House feels like a family home, from the tree-lined drive to the sunny State Rooms. A Pynes House wedding photographer here should be good with people as much as with light, because everyone is staying under one roof.

As your Pynes House wedding photographer I photograph the arrivals up the drive, the quiet moments in the State Rooms and the party in the Ballroom, with portraits in the gardens looking over the valley.

Planning your Pynes House wedding photography

Keep twenty minutes free before sunset for the gardens and the views across the valley. For multi-day weddings, the day before is a great time for relaxed photos of everyone arriving.
