Rackleys sits in its own patch of Buckinghamshire countryside near Marlow, and the site does two entirely different things in one day. Before dinner it is meadow, wildflowers and long light. After dark it is oak beams and festoon, which is a far kinder room to photograph than most barns.
The meadow is the part that sets it apart. At most venues portraits mean a walk and a plan; here they mean stepping through a gate into waist-high wildflowers with the light coming sideways through them.

The whole site works without a single posed set-up. That is unusual, and it is why days here run so easily.
The meadow, and the hour that makes it
Golden hour here is not something you hope for, it is something you book. The meadow faces the right way, the flowers catch the light from behind, and ten minutes in it will give you more than an hour anywhere else.
I will tell you roughly when that window falls for your date, so it sits in the running order rather than being squeezed in around the speeches.

Oak beams and festoon hold their light later than most barns, which means the first dance is not a lottery and the evening does not turn into a wall of flash.
