What a Preston Court wedding photographer is working with
More than almost anywhere else in Kent. There is the house, the gardens, a barn with long tables and lights, and then the deliberately strange bits — fairground lettering, a decorated tent, corners that exist nowhere else. A day here does not look like a day anywhere else, which is the whole point of booking it.
For a photographer that variety is the gift. Your pictures at two in the afternoon and at nine at night belong to different days, and none of it needs styling from me.

The evening, and why it is worth planning around
Once the festoon comes on the whole site changes. The pictures between about eight and ten are the ones that end up on the wall, and they are the reason to protect ten minutes of your evening rather than spend all of it sitting down.
No flash until the dancefloor, silent shutter all day. In a space lit like this, flash would undo the thing you paid for.

How I work a day here
Nothing is posed. I photograph the day as it actually happens, from close enough to hear the joke and far enough not to be in it.
With this much going on, that matters more than usual: the best frames here are the ones nobody knew were being taken.
