There are three ceremony settings: Juliana’s Island in the middle of the lake (up to 120), St Mildred’s Church in the grounds (seats 120) and the 17th-century Kentish Barn, with a vintage dancehall organ at each end (120 seated). Dinner is in the barn, with menus from the venue’s partner caterers. Up to 50 guests can stay in on-site glamping, dogs are welcome, and the estate has its own Victorian carousel.

Claire and Tom’s day showed how many different looks Preston Court gives you in one place: the bright colours of the carousel, the character of the old barns and the calm of the gardens. I kept out of the way and let the day unfold, and the guests on the dancefloor at the reception tell the rest of the story.
