Tiffany and Ben’s Nancarrow Farm wedding was an October day in the middle of Cornwall: pumpkins down the aisle, a vintage polka dot dress for the morning, a groom who could not hold it together when she walked in, and a barn full of people who laughed all the way through the speeches.
Nancarrow Farm is a working organic farm near Zelah, between Truro and Newquay, with oak-framed barns, a stone courtyard and a hundred acres of rolling fields. For a Nancarrow Farm wedding photographer it is a gift: warm barn light inside, soft autumn light outside, and a day that never feels staged. There is more about the venue itself on my Nancarrow Farm wedding photographer page.
The morning
Tiffany got ready in a red polka dot dress with her hair pinned up in a proper vintage style. Hair, make-up and a bit of nervous laughter, then the veil went on.

The barn and the details
The ceremony barn was set with pumpkins down the aisle and a chalkboard running order in the courtyard. Everything about the day felt handmade, because most of it was.

The ceremony
Guests gathered in the courtyard, Tiffany arrived with her dad, and Ben lost it the moment he saw her. Then the vows, with a lot more laughing than crying, and the register signed at a little table at the front of the barn.

Portraits around the farm
A few minutes away from everyone: a green farm door, the edge of the woodland, and the two of them walking back towards the barns.

The wedding breakfast and speeches
Long tables in the barn, candles and autumn flowers, cupcake favours and a chocolate cake. The speeches were the loudest part of the day, and the top table barely stopped laughing.

Cake, first dance and the party
The cake was cut, the lights went down and the first dance turned into a full dancefloor within a song.

Photographing a Nancarrow Farm wedding
A Nancarrow Farm wedding happens mostly in and around the barns, so the light inside matters. I work without flash for as long as possible and use the big barn doors and windows, which is why the ceremony and speeches here look warm rather than lit. Outside, the courtyard and the edge of the woodland are only a couple of minutes’ walk, so portraits never take anyone away from the party for long.
My advice for a Nancarrow Farm wedding in autumn: embrace the weather, plan a few minutes outside when the rain stops, and let the barn do the rest. Documentary first, but not rigid: group photos from your list and as much or as little posing as you want. I am based in Cornwall, so there is no travel charge. Nancarrow Farm wedding questions
What is a Nancarrow Farm wedding like?
Relaxed and rustic. Nancarrow is a working organic farm near Zelah, and weddings happen in its oak-framed barns and courtyard, with long tables, open fires and food from the farm. It suits couples who want a warm, informal day rather than a formal one.
How much is a Nancarrow Farm wedding photographer?
£2,000 all in with Matt Wing, the Cornwall rate. That covers unlimited hours, 800+ edited images, 100+ previews the next morning, drone where permitted and a private online gallery. There is no travel charge in Cornwall.
Is Nancarrow Farm good for an autumn wedding?
Very. Tiffany and Ben married there in October, with pumpkins lining the aisle, candles on the tables and the barns warm inside while the weather did what it liked outside.
Do we have to pose for photographs?
No. Documentary first, but not rigid: family group photos from your list, a few short portrait walks with gentle direction, and as much or as little posing as you want.
