Jess & Michael: A Suffolk love story at Copdock Hall
A brilliant Copdock Hall wedding day spent in the company of Jess and Michael at Copdock Hall in Ipswich. A Suffolk country wedding gets you excited and this was no different. Jess and Michael really are a brilliant fun couple with everything in front of them.
Copdock Hall at a glance
Copdock Hall is an exclusive-use wedding venue on Church Lane in Copdock, just outside Ipswich in Suffolk. At its heart is a Grade II listed Elizabethan barn with oak beams, a courtyard and a garden, surrounded by its own vineyard. It is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. You can marry in the barn, outside among the vines, or in the church just beyond them. The on-site Farmhouse sleeps up to 17 guests in 8 en-suite rooms, and there is a separate honeymoon suite.
The day started at Jess’ parents’ house with the bridal prep. Jess being Jess was completely unfazed by it all and was sat in the window doing her own makeup as I arrived. Her fellow bridesmaids were spread around the house in different rooms doing their own thing, which set the tone for a completely relaxed and fun day. Copdock Hall Wedding Photography is a real honour and something you need to make the most of!
As we arrived at Copdock Hall I went to see Michael who was equally as calm! I thought weddings were meant to be a nervous occasion, but certainly not here.

The beautifully laid-back ceremony went well and the day really started to unfold with Jess’ fine planning and foresight coming to fruition. Everything from an abundance of cakes and biscuits to space hopper races, dress malfunctions and pure alcohol bliss, this wedding really was a special day. It really was a pleasure to shoot and I thanks Jess and Michael for entrusting me with the honour.
I wish them all the luck in the world and believe they’ve recently had a little addition to the family! Congrats to you all.

Kind words…
“Matt was the perfect photographer. We have the most beautiful photographs full of wonderful memories from our day. He got the balance of being professional yet friendly spot on. He took photographs we didn’t know we wanted, and captured moments we didn’t know had happened. If you like the style of Matt’s photography, book him. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Matt x”
Photographing a Copdock Hall wedding
Jess and Michael’s Copdock Hall wedding in September 2016 was about as relaxed as weddings get. When I arrived at Jess’s parents’ house, she was sitting in the window doing her own make-up, with bridesmaids spread around the house. At Copdock Hall, Michael was just as calm. After a laid-back ceremony, the day filled up with cakes, biscuits and space hopper races. That kind of day is a gift for documentary photos.
