Emma & Ollie: A Crondon Park Wedding
The Crondon Park Wedding of Emma and Ollie in March 2018 at Crondon Park Wedding Venue in Stock, Essex.

Crondon Park is a family-run wedding venue on Stock Road in Stock, near Chelmsford, set in the Crondon valley beside its championship golf course and hosting weddings since 1994. Its centrepiece is the Baronial Hall, a light-oak Tudor or Jacobean barn built around 1600, now air-conditioned, which seats up to 148 and takes 220 in the evening. Crondon Park Wedding Photography
Perhaps unsurprisingly, wedding suppliers have a mental list of wedding venues that they hope to spend time in at least once in a wedding season. A Crondon Park Wedding is certainly one of them! Emma & Ollie were a very endearing young couple with big plans and brilliant wedding memories that I’m fairly sure will stay with them forever.
As I mentioned above, I absolutely adore a Crondon park wedding and have shot a good number over the last few years. It’s a stunning venue in the Stock countryside that always provides me with that little bit of inspiration. This time I got to stage a really fun of series of photos in the car park, thanks to a bit of clever lighting and a little mist!
The day started at The Havard in Stock for the Groom preparation and ‘refreshments’, before we made our way to The Greenwood Hotel and Spa to document the Bridal side of the preparations. It was great to see the excellent Nicola Beddoes on make-up duty and as ever, her expert work left Emma the bride looking stunning. It was fun to see Emma taking everything in her stride as she embarked on her journey to the ceremony.

The nuptials took place at St Michael’s Church in Galleywood, a beautifully traditional setting for the wedding ceremony. A testament to the elegant nature of the event was how notably a number of passers-by stopped to admire the scenery as Emma arrived. It was lovely to see Emma happily embracing the moment, with a deft wave and a smile that made you think she could offer some tips to our royal bride Megan!
The beautiful, intimate church ceremony was followed by a return to Crondon Park for the wedding breakfast that flowed into evening festivities. The whole day really was a pleasure to shoot and I thank Emma and Ollie for entrusting me with the honour. I wish them all the luck in the world and am sure they’ll go forward with the same grace and joie de vivre they showed on their wedding day.

Kind words
My wife and I spent a lot of time looking for a photographer to capture our special day and the moment we saw Matt’s website, we both knew instantly that we wanted to use him, we knew we would both be at ease on the big day having Matt around.
On the day, the photo’s Matt captured were simply amazing, everything we had asked for and nothing was too much trouble. He took control and organised everything so effectively and professionally, whilst blending in with all the guests, you don’t even realise he is there sometimes taking these amazing photos. Even our guests on the day came up to us commenting on how great our photographer is. I simply cannot recommend Matt highly enough, not only is he an amazing photographer, but he’s a fantastic guy too.
Emma & Ollie
Photographing a Crondon Park wedding
Emma and Ollie married at St Michael’s Church in Galleywood in March, then came back to Crondon Park for the wedding breakfast and the evening. The moment I remember most was a series we made in the car park after dark, with a little mist and some careful lighting. It turned an ordinary corner of the venue into one of my favourite sets of the day. The party then ran on inside into the evening.
Crondon Park wedding questions
Is Crondon Park licensed for civil ceremonies?
Yes. Most ceremonies take place in the Ryder Room, part of the Baronial Suite, and the venue is licensed for indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Emma and Ollie chose a church ceremony at St Michael’s in Galleywood and came back for the reception.
How many guests can Crondon Park hold, and can they stay?
The Baronial Hall seats up to 148 for the meal and 220 in the evening. There is a bridal suite and five en-suite guest bedrooms on site, plus a night-before room sleeping up to eight.
Where are the best photo spots at Crondon Park?
The enclosed private gardens and the countryside views, and after dark even the car park: Emma and Ollie’s mist-and-light series there is one of my favourites.
How much does a Crondon Park wedding photographer cost?
£2,500, all in for the whole day. UK travel is included, and you get 800+ edited photos plus 100+ previews the next day. See everything that’s included.
Have you photographed weddings at Crondon Park before?
Yes. Emma and Ollie’s March 2018 wedding is one of them, with the ceremony at St Michael’s Church in Galleywood and the reception back at Crondon Park.
