Gosfield Hall at a glance
Gosfield Hall sits in the village of Gosfield in north Essex, near Halstead, in ten acres of manicured grounds and parkland beside Gosfield Lake. It is run for weddings on an exclusive-use basis, one wedding per day, with in-house catering. You can marry on site in one of three licensed settings (the oak-panelled Queen’s Gallery, the Grand Salon or the carriageway courtyards), or hold a church service elsewhere and come back for the reception, as Lara and Stephen did. The former ballroom seats 116 and the house has 23 bedroom suites.
Having only booked the venue in January 2020 Lara and Stephen didn’t have a great deal of time to overthink things! I must congratulate both on what turned about to be a brilliant wedding for everyone who attended.
I was lucky enough to be joined by David at Rideout Films on videographer duty and as always was blown away by his wedding film. She really is one of the best Bridal hairstylists in the business and worth a look if you’re are looking at suppliers for your own wedding.

Photographing a Gosfield Hall reception
Lara and Stephen married in church and then came back to Gosfield Hall for the reception, so their March day moved from one to the other. At the hall the photographs came from the rooms and the people in them: the shoes and the cake, the reception, then the first dance. We finished outside after dark with sparklers, which gave the night a proper ending. They only booked the venue that January, and it all came together.
