A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Knightor Winery yet, so as your Knightor Winery wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.

What a Knightor Winery wedding photographer is working with

Knightor Winery is a working vineyard on the hill above St Austell Bay. Weddings are exclusive use, centred on a restored 18th-century threshing barn with vaulted ceilings and old beams, a sunny courtyard, a farmhouse for staying over, and three acres of vines, gardens and a pond.

It is a relaxed, rustic kind of day: drinks in the courtyard, the ceremony under the arbour or in the barn, and a long evening that ends with the barn full of dancing.

The spaces at Knightor Winery

The barn is licensed for ceremonies of up to 90 guests and takes around 150 in the evening. Outside, you can marry under the arbour looking over the pond, with the vines around you.

For portraits, the rows of vines and the edge of the grounds catch the evening light beautifully, and they are only a couple of minutes from the courtyard.

How I photograph a Knightor Winery wedding

Knightor is a working winery, so the Knightor Winery wedding photographer you choose should enjoy rows of vines, an arbour and a barn full of long tables as much as you do. The threshing barn has lovely soft light through the day.

As your Knightor Winery wedding photographer I plan a short walk out to the vines before dinner, when the evening light comes across St Austell Bay, and spend the rest of the night on the barn dancefloor.

And then the dancefloor.

Planning your Knightor Winery wedding photography

Ask for the ceremony under the arbour if the weather is kind, and keep the barn as plan B. Leave twenty minutes before sunset for the vines, when the light is low and warm.
