Encya & John: A Summertime Marks Hall Wedding in Essex

The beautiful Marks Hall Wedding of Encya and John in August 2017. A Marks Hall wedding is always one to cherish and this was no different. Encya and John had planned every detail to perfection and it showed.

Marks Hall at a glance

Weddings at Marks Hall take place at The Coach House, near Coggeshall in Essex. It is an 18th-century coach house with brick walls and exposed timber frames that once housed the coaches for the mansion. It has its own private garden and sits within a 250-acre arboretum, which is part of a 2,500-acre rural estate. Wedding listings give up to 120 guests for the wedding breakfast and 200 in the evening. Ceremonies of up to 80 can be held under the gazebo in the flower garden. The venue-only option lets you bring your own suppliers.

We clicked immediately at our initial meeting in Colchester and I knew then that I really wanted this wedding. I’d never had the pleasure of working at Marks Hall Wedding Estate before so knew I’d have to research the venue and do my homework.

Marks Hall Wedding Photography

We met again at Marks Hall prior to the big day and had a good scout around for suitable locations that looked promising. We really were rewarded for our hard work as the couple portraits later in the day were some of my favourite shots from the whole year. From a surprise Ferrari for John and his team of ushers to a truly brilliant bridesmaid speech we really had a great day. I was privileged to have been there and am delighted with the final gallery I delivered.

I wish Encya and John all the luck in the world and hope they have a wonderful life together.

Kind words

When my husband and I first met Matt, we knew we wanted him to photograph our special day. He was so professional and such a nice guy that we instantly felt comfortable around him. As you can imagine having a stranger take pictures of you can be quite daunting and would sometimes make you feel vulnerable but with Matt it was different.

He was either making us laugh or at other times we wouldn’t even know he was there as he would let us just enjoy and embrace the day. He was obviously working his magic as our photos are phenomenal! If we could go back to the beginning of planning our wedding the one thing we would do all over again would be to choose Matt Wing Photo to be our wedding photographer.

I will definitely recommend Matt to all our family and friends but to be honest, if anyone saw the photos that would be enough to choose him!

We are so pleased that you were on our journey to becoming husband and wife. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and a memory that will last a lifetime so thank you for being apart of it.

Photographing a Marks Hall wedding

Before Encya and John’s wedding, we met at Marks Hall and walked the grounds to find the best spots for portraits. It paid off. The couple portraits later in the day were some of my favourite pictures of the whole year. On the day there was plenty to photograph besides: a surprise Ferrari for John and his ushers, and a brilliant bridesmaid speech. With a site this big, a short scouting walk beforehand is well worth it.

How many guests does Marks Hall hold?

Listings give up to 120 for the wedding breakfast in The Coach House and up to 200 for the evening. Confirm current numbers with the venue.

Where are the best photos at Marks Hall?

The estate is big, so it’s worth walking it beforehand. Encya, John and I did that, and the spots we found gave some of my favourite couple portraits of the year.

How much does a Marks Hall wedding photographer cost?

With me it’s one all-in price of £2,500 for the whole day, with UK travel included. You get 800+ edited photos, plus 100+ previews the next day. See everything that’s included.

Have you photographed weddings at Marks Hall before?

Yes. I photographed Encya and John’s summer wedding at Marks Hall in August 2017, with a surprise Ferrari for John and his ushers along the way.

Here’s the story of their day……
