Mount Edgcumbe Wedding Photographer
A historic house, formal gardens and an 18th-century Orangery across the water from Plymouth. Relaxed, documentary photography, £2,000 all in.

A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Mount Edgcumbe yet, so as your Mount Edgcumbe wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.
What a Mount Edgcumbe wedding photographer is working with
Mount Edgcumbe stands in a huge country park on the Rame Peninsula, looking across Plymouth Sound from the Cornish side. Weddings can be held in the house, which has licensed rooms for ceremonies of two to 120, or outside in the Summer House overlooking the Earl’s Garden.
Receptions happen in The Orangery, built in 1775 and overlooking the Italian Garden, which seats around 120 and holds around 200 in the evening, or in a marquee in the Earl’s Garden.
Formal gardens, parkland and the sea, all in one estate.

Photographing a Mount Edgcumbe wedding
The formal gardens are the heart of it: the Italian Garden in front of the Orangery, the Earl’s Garden and its Summer House, and the parkland beyond. There is no shortage of places for portraits, and most are only a few minutes’ walk apart.
Inside, the house and the Orangery both have big windows and lovely natural light, so I rarely need flash until the dancing starts.

During the ceremony.

On the wedding morning.
How I photograph a Mount Edgcumbe wedding
Mount Edgcumbe gives you a choice of settings, from the house to the Orangery in the formal gardens, all looking across the water towards Plymouth. A Mount Edgcumbe wedding photographer needs to plan the day around whichever you choose.
As your Mount Edgcumbe wedding photographer I use the formal gardens and the waterfront for portraits, and the Orangery’s tall windows for the speeches and the dancing.

Golden hour.

And then the party.
Planning your Mount Edgcumbe wedding photography
Many guests travel from Plymouth, so think about the Cremyll ferry and road times when you plan the start. Keep twenty minutes before sunset free for the gardens and the park.
There is more on Cornish weddings on my Cornwall wedding photographer page, and Polhawn Fort is just along the same peninsula.
What a £2,000 Mount Edgcumbe wedding photographer covers
House, Orangery or garden marquee: the same complete coverage.
Straight answers
In the licensed rooms of the house for up to 120 guests, or outside in the Summer House overlooking the Earl’s Garden.
Around 120 for the wedding breakfast and around 200 in the evening.
One price, £2,000, covers everything: I stay as long as you need me, you get 800+ finished photos, 100+ previews within a day, drone photos where permitted and a private gallery. I am based in Cornwall, so there is no travel charge.
Hardly any. There is a list of family groups, which I keep quick, and a few minutes of portraits with gentle prompts. Everything else is unposed.
