Blake Hall Wedding Photographer
A white Georgian house in its own gardens outside Ongar, a timber-framed hall for dinner, and grounds mature enough to do the work for you.

What a Blake Hall wedding photographer is working with
The gardens are the reason to book it. They are old, they are properly planted, and they give you five or six completely different places to stand without ever leaving the site.
Inside, the timber-framed hall is warm and low-lit — the opposite of the glass-box rooms a lot of new venues build — which means dinner and speeches have a character that does not need help from me.
Mature gardens do a thing no new venue can buy: they give a photographer somewhere different to stand every twenty minutes.

The gardens, and where to be at eight
The best twenty minutes of a Blake Hall day are usually late, outside, with the house behind you and the light going sideways through the trees.
Ten minutes is enough to use it. No shot list, nobody posed, and you are back with your guests before anyone notices you left.

Fairy lights in the roof, once it is dark.

In the gardens, late on.
How I work a day here
Nothing is posed. I photograph the day as it happens, quietly, and the pictures people keep tend to be the ones nobody knew were being taken.
Silent shutter all day and no flash until the dancefloor. A low-lit timber hall is exactly the sort of room that flash ruins.

Under the trees, with the house behind.

Fireworks. Worth telling me about in advance.
A Blake Hall wedding photographer’s timeline, hour by hour
Timings move with your ceremony time, but this is the shape of most of the weddings I photograph here. Nothing in it is a rule.
What a £2,500 Blake Hall wedding photographer covers
One price, the same for every couple, written out in full so there are no surprises.
Straight answers
Two that are published, and both are at the bottom of this page.
Two short slots: fifteen minutes after the ceremony and ten more in the gardens when the light drops.
No, but tell me in advance so I can be in the right place rather than running for it.
Yes. Essex is where I learned this job, with over 400 weddings here. I stay nearby the night before, so I am on site early and rested, and travel is always included.
Real weddings at Blake Hall
Two full galleries from my work as a Blake Hall wedding photographer, shot as each day happened. No posing, no staging, no repeating things for the camera.
The venue, and booking a Blake Hall wedding photographer
Blake Hall sits just outside Ongar in west Essex, close enough to the M11 that guests from London arrive without a fight.
I photograph one wedding a day and never book two. If your date is free, £500 holds it and the balance is due thirty days before.
Tell me your date
One price, everything in it, and a whole day photographed without anyone being asked to pose.
