A note on the photos: I have not photographed a wedding at Blenheim Palace yet, so as your Blenheim Palace wedding photographer I am showing pictures from other weddings of mine. When I photograph one here, they will be replaced.

What a Blenheim Palace wedding photographer is working with

Blenheim Palace in Woodstock is a World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, set in a huge landscaped park just north of Oxford.

Weddings are held in the Orangery, a tall, light room with huge arched windows and a glass roof that looks out over the Duke’s Italian Garden. It takes up to 250 for a ceremony and up to 200 for dinner with a dancefloor.

A palace, a park that goes on for miles and a room made of light.

Photographing a Blenheim Palace wedding

The Orangery is full of daylight from the tall windows and glass roof, which is beautiful for the ceremony and the speeches without any flash.

The scale of the place is the challenge. I plan portrait spots in advance so we can make the most of the gardens and the park without you disappearing for long.

How I photograph a Blenheim Palace wedding

At Blenheim the wedding is in the Orangery, a tall glass-roofed room looking onto the Italian Garden. A Blenheim Palace wedding photographer should work with that daylight rather than flash, which keeps the room feeling as it does.

As your Blenheim Palace wedding photographer I plan portrait spots with the palace team in advance, so we make the most of the gardens without you disappearing for long.

Planning your Blenheim Palace wedding photography

Talk to the palace team early about access to the gardens for photos, and keep fifteen minutes free before sunset.

Just up the road, I photographed Louise and George’s wedding at Primrose Hill Farm near Banbury, and there is a guide to The Great Barn at Aynho too.
