Adele & Daniel / Braxted Park

Adele and Daniel were married at Braxted Park on 5 October 2025 — black tie, candlelight, and a dancefloor nobody left early. If you are looking for a Braxted Park wedding photographer, this is what a full day on the estate actually looks like, from the first cup of tea to the last song.

Braxted Park sits in its own parkland near Great Braxted, a few minutes outside Witham in Essex. Early October gave us the best of it: low afternoon light across the grass, the creeper on the walled garden turned full red, and just enough warmth to keep everyone outside with a drink after the ceremony.

An October wedding at Braxted Park

It is a venue that rewards a photographer who moves. The house, the Orangery, the walled garden and the parkland all photograph completely differently, and on a short autumn day you have to know which one to use and when.

The morning ran between two rooms of botanical wallpaper. Adele got ready with her bridesmaids and three flower girls, hair by Carly Williams and makeup by Bianca Spencer, the Pronovias dress hanging in the doorway behind them. Daniel and his groomsmen dressed in black tie across the house — white bow ties, white rose buttonholes. Both of them read a letter from the other before they left their rooms.

The ceremony in the Orangery

They married in the Orangery — white chairs down a long aisle, tall arched doors open onto the lawn, and an arch of white roses and foliage at the top. Their celebrant, Nicola, kept it warm and personal rather than formal, and Solebay Strings played them in and out.

Adele came in on her mum’s arm. Daniel did not hold it together, and neither did most of the front row. It is a bright room with a lot of window light, which means I can work through a ceremony here without a flash and without getting in the way.

Confetti, portraits and the walled garden

Confetti on the way out, then Sammi Sings through drinks and canapés while the group shots got done on the lawn.

We took about twenty minutes on our own late in the afternoon: red brick, ironwork gates, the walled garden creeper at full colour, and the parkland behind the house as the light dropped. Twenty minutes is all I ask for, and on an October day at Braxted Park it is all you need.

Dinner, speeches and the dancefloor

Elf Occasions had dressed the room in blush and candlelight with tall white florals down the tables, the flowers by Springfield Florist. The speeches were genuinely funny and ran long in the best way, including one from the bridesmaids that the room will not forget.

Then the cake from Sweet Nelly’s, a first dance under the lights, and Fairytale Finishes with DJ Corey keeping the floor full until the end. Ride Out Films were filming alongside me all day and were a pleasure to work with.

Planning a Braxted Park wedding: a photographer’s notes

A few things I have learned as a Braxted Park wedding photographer, in case they are useful while you build your day.

The Orangery is bright, but it is directional. Light comes in hard from one side through those arched doors. It is beautiful on the aisle and it means no flash is needed, which is the first thing I check as a Braxted Park wedding photographer. It is worth knowing your ceremony will look very different at 1pm and 4pm, so ask your registrar or celebrant for the time you actually want rather than the one you are offered first.

October light is short and worth protecting. Sunset in early October is around six o’clock. If you want portraits in that low gold light across the parkland, we need about twenty minutes somewhere between the end of the meal and the start of the speeches. Say so at the planning stage and your coordinator will build it in.

The walled garden is the best backdrop on the estate, and it is a two-minute walk from the house. Red brick, ironwork gates and the creeper turning colour in autumn. It also works in flat grey light, which matters in Essex in October — and it is the spot every Braxted Park wedding photographer should have in their back pocket.

Confetti works best just outside the main doors, where the drive narrows and guests can line both sides. Check the venue’s confetti policy before you buy — most estates want biodegradable petals only.

Group shots take about twenty minutes, not ten. Write your list in advance, keep it to eight or so groupings, and nominate somebody loud who knows both families to round people up.

Looking for a Braxted Park wedding photographer?

I work as a Braxted Park wedding photographer and across Essex, and I shoot the way this day was covered: quietly, in the room, with very little direction beyond the twenty minutes of group shots. You get the day as it actually happened. I know the estate well enough to plan around the light rather than hope for it.

If you are planning a wedding here, I would love to hear about it. Check your date, or have a look at more real weddings first.
